  • George Tharakan is the co-founder and chief investment officer of Alamar Capital Management, a private wealth management firm in Santa Barbara.  Before founding Alamar, George was the Director of Research at Santa Barbara Asset Management where he helped invest over $4 Billion.  Prior to becoming a professional investor, George was an engineer at Intel Corporation where he designed microprocessors.

    George is an Honors graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, with  an M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois, and received an MBA in Finance, with Honors, from the Anderson School of Business (UCLA) and is a member of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts.

  • Prior to co-founding Alamar Capital Management, LLC, Mr. Murphy was the founder of Sycamore Advisors, a consulting firm to boutique investment management firms (2008-2010). John was previously a Principal and Managing Director with Santa Barbara Asset Management (2001-2008), where he was a Client Portfolio Manager, a member of the Executive Committee, and developed and managed the firm’s Institutional Marketing and Client Service effort. Prior to that, John was with Canterbury Consulting, an institutional pension consulting firm. John has a B.S. in International Relations from California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo and an MBA in Finance from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. He is a CFA charter holder and a member of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts.

  • Lheanna joined Alamar in January 2022 as the Operations Associate. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in English.
